If only there were a couple more red herrings. By the end of season 2 damn near everyone is a suspect at some point. Some people are suspects more than once. It's tiring.
In many ways this season played out much like the first. Peeters is still loopy, practically everyone else is incompetent and/or corrupt, and you have little reason to care about anyone. After figuring fairly prominently in the first two-thirds of this season, Peeters' daughter is completely absent from the final two episodes, which left me wondering why she was there in the first place. So much weight is placed on solving this murder that three other murders are handled as if they're merely scenery. Then there's the "I see dead people" neighbors. Huh? Really?
Despite all that, the acting is strong all-around, and I still found the season entertaining. If there's a third season, here's to a tighter story, and less reliance on goofy ideas that seem forced in place, like the whole ghosts subplot. There's a great show in here somewhere, maybe they'll find it before it's all over.
