It's a rare case anymore that I listen to, much less like, an entire album, but Misery Is a Butterfly is an indivisible whole. I enjoy the structural conceits -- the way that Kazu and Amedeo alternate vocals between tracks, culminating in a duet with "Pink Love". This is an album whose appeal accumulates. The first time I heard it, it hardly registered. At this point I must have listened to a hundred times: it always perfectly expresses that feeling of psychological breakdown. Come pandemic times, I couldn't recommend it more as a beautiful accompaniment to the apocalyptic descent.
