As good a job as anyone could've done. Those complaining about the running time have attention spans of a monkey. It has to be long to cover the source material.
It's not flawless, and a little uneven in parts - but that's because the director has been let off his leash, and is having crazy carnival-style fun, it's all over the screen. When watched with the first film, this will be the Infinity War of horror films. A truly mindblowing accomplishment - I laughed, jumped, screamed, gasped, cringed... and even shed a tear at the end. The director's love for the novel is evident, and I absolutely loved it. 8/10.
