I have never had the luxury of reading the books or seeing any previous depictions. From what I know of the period Ruby is the best and closest version of women of the time period. What we think of beauty today would have been Ruby back then. She was the perfect pick and I would have chosen her to be Elizabeth as she has a royal and highly desired beauty about her for the time period. Nothing, however, is perfect and some times you have to make due with what you have to work with, which is talent, by the way. Theater is just that, a depiction. I fell in love with this series and was so pleased that I didnt have to see people's private parts to get the clue they were madly in love and having sexual intercourse as a part of that connection. Im also thankful I did not have to actually see any one bludgeoned to death to know that they were. This was an awesome series and it did well to get those points across with out damaging my innocence and that of my children. My 7 year old daughter loved the dresses. Thank you so much for a cleaner depiction yet just as entertaining and fulfilling as it could have been. Without the knowledge of previous writings and versions I was very well please with this one and enjoyed it fully. My only peeve was the actresses chosen for Elizabeth and Caroline. Great actresses but not what beauty was those many years ago. I hope to see more along the line of this from your company. It takes real talent to bring a production together in the ways this one was done. Thank you for your bravery in the endeavor. I am well pleased. I hope to see more.
