I enjoyed the reading very much. I command Beth for having the courage to tell her story and exposing her not-so-perfect life in order to send a message to help others recognize the illusions created in order to sell a perfect image. Most people will not attempt that because it requires a lot of courage to get used to being judged - in her case, from a very young age and making this her career. Most people hide and become the ones judging instead because it’s easier. To get off that judgment seat and reach out beyond and behind the illusions and curtains someone is hiding and trying to be perfect, requires intelligence and compassion. Unfortunately, a talent very few possess. Thankfully aside all the criticisms, Beth decided to step in the spotlight once again to share her story and the lessons she learned. I found myself underlining several wisdom words so gracefully shared by her. My favorite one was on the last page of Chapter 3: “By age 21, I had already begun to learn about the three Cs of life: Choice, chance and change. I’d learned that only by choosing to take that chance, whatever it might be, would my life change. And change was what I wanted.” These words resonated so much with me because this is one thing I know for sure: in order to change our lives we need to be willing to take a chance. Throughout the years I have met many people who wanted to change their lives but never had the courage to even change the city they lived in. Unlike Beth, who took chances and stood up over and over again, and never gave up on those "white picket fence" places to live. I have a feeling those white pickets are now surrounding her own heart after she found herself again. Thank you for sharing your story Beth.
