After watching the Making of WGN’s News Nation, I was looking forward to seeing “just the facts” on today’s news stories. Now, after watching five nights of News Nation coverage, I agree the reporting is truly unbiased and without opinion. However, the stories selected for coverage are fairly non-controversial. Where is the coverage of the “hot button” issues like the deferred payroll tax (which negatively affects future Social Security payments), election medaling by foreign countries, demise of the postal service, Trump’s alleged comments on the military (losers and suckers)? It’s easy to be unbiased on non-controversial topics. I’m waiting to see how you report on controversial issues. That will ultimately determine the viability of News Nation in the news marketplace.
