The amount of criticism toward this movie is kind of sickening. It's a good watch. There's way way worse out there. Way. Why would we want to discourage an effort at this style of film? It was artsy and original. Brooding. It captured sensations, feelings and atmospheres that are hard to come by in film now a days. It deserves some fan nurturing. Not condemnation. I want more of what this movies was. But with the undervedly harsh judgments passed on this movie, it will likely signal to creative studios that doing something different will risk putting them back and/or under financially. To all the review bombers and critics anhiliating this movie - ugh. Not justified. It's really not that bad at all.

Tonnes of fun if you ask me. Unexpected humor that was good spirited. Despite the comic relief moments feeling close to cringe, a cringe never occurred. Which was a great relief, resulting in an appreciation for the delivery and execution of those moments. I could see how some might find it cringe humor but imo they displayed self awareness which gave it a feeling of off handed nuance and sophisticated silliness. It made the tone and feeling of the movie seem to be well intentioned. Very extravagant story line, in a way that felt comedically large but obviously not overly complicated. Just big, which was fun. Easy to follow, not because it was a spoon feed but instead little injections of narrative building dialogue seemed to confirm my ongoing interpretation of the storyline, at the right points in time. Boundary pushing CGI. Visually lots of very immersive environments. Pleasing colors and geometry. Actors who didn't try to hard. No politics to be found. Nothing woke. Just people who were relatable and genuine but still lighter hearted. Nothing cliche or stereotypical. Just relatable realm life people activibg. The monsters of course, really imaginative and fun to watch in action amongst one another. CGI being at its best in 2024, it really was quite a spectacle. Just a fun 2024 Hollywood flex. There are so many terrible movies out there new and old, this one isn't one of them. My only complaint after having watched it was having to constantly monitor my home theater volume levels out of respect for the neighbours. So much bass and epic sound design, I wish I could have just left it at a high volume for full immersion. There's so much going on with the audio!! This is obviously not a con of the film itself, more so it being problematic for how epic it was!

Good work dusty. Well balanced comedy. Nothing political and instead, a cultural experience of every day life... the vibe of getting by, not minding life and getting a kick out of the regular things. Hardly even a fraction of anything uncouth or overly crude yet not softy yawn material. There wasn't even anything political about his inoffensive topics either. He's just a crafty dude who gets the every day absurdity of things but stays in bounds about it. Been following him for a little while now and didn't see a Netflix special coming from his grassroots small town beginnings. He's got some medium depth humor on some surface level topics but the execution of it gives off the vibe dusty has something distinguished about him with an understanding of some bigger human things. And he's put it to good use. Finally a Netflix special that isn't just exploitative rage bait humor. Keep it up dusty !!!!

Effortless to enjoy. Enjoyable cast and acting. Appreciable setting. Didn't need to try to keep my attention nor did it do much to deter it. I'm not a vapid viewer but neither am I excessively critical. Middle ground, realistic viewer. I thought it was great. I really enjoyed it. Only complaint was the occasional sound effects in place which over dramatized specific scene transitions. Lol. Was slightly off in tone and intensity. But they sounded cool on their own as a sound effect. Just not applied correctly. Lol.

I went into this absolutely blind and had no idea what I was getting into. I was surprised and satisfied beyond what I'd define as acceptable. It goes abive and beyond acceptable. I expect this film to be considered a cult classic some years down the line. Very well executed and conceptually very satisfying! Loved the thought provoking themes.

I have a decent enough understanding of the premise for the video games. I've lightly played. The emphasis of these games being thriller, edge of your seat adrenaline. I could barely play it due it's success in that tbh. Lol. Too anxiety inducing. Conceptually, it's a unique twist on the zombie platform. Aesthetically, the fungi aspect of these mutated human cadavers is awesome. It's a dark post apocalyptic thriller based on intriguing science! The show however, only lightly borrows from the themes I've described. They seem to faithfully represent the games storyline and environment but take immense artistic liberties in regards to what they are choosing to portray and emphasize. Each episode I go in with hype and anticipation for thriller adrenaline. Instead we wait episodes at a time for an action segment which is followed up with the next episode ENTIRELY dissolving any of the build from the previous episode. Instead of thrills, almost every episode is an emotional case study on sappy relationships. Sometimes waiting until the last 8 mins for action and a cliff hanger. There's been maybe 45 mins of thriller scenes 6 episodes deep? Plain and simple it's just not that good and definitely over hyped. They rely on some woke characteristics to garner defense and support as well. As a left leaning person, imo you'd have to be willfully ignorant to pretend that isn't true. Overall, It's pretty meh. Good enough to keep watching but nothing to gush over. They also absolutely bombed the casting for Kathleen and I hate to say it but Bella Ramsay just ain't it either. I like her but she's not really the actress they needed for efficacy. However, she's ticking criteria for the woke check boxes.. She's non binary and seemingly possibly neuro divergent.

Fricking spectacular sequel. Places you right back into the universe of the original with a variety of improvements in a variety of ways for a variety of things. It's a juiced up, even more aesthetically beautiful and captivating HZD. Perfect continuity from the original. If you loved the first one I can't imagine there's a reason to dislike the second. I expected maybe more changes? But I think it was a "don't fix what's not broken sorta thing". If there's haters it's because they don't like the concept as a whole I guess. Which I can't wrap my mind around personally. But! If you grew tired of hzd this is a continuation of what you grew tired of. I personally didn't grow tired of hzd and I know many others did not either!

Really not that great. Cheap laughs in a film they didn't belong in... used to lighted the mood when it shouldn't have been light. Its vibe was an elaborate romance fan fiction that bastardized the underlying themes and conceptualization of the original film. It was clunky, felt washed up and served no purpose. The Matrix gained its status due to its philosophical undertones and well executed action scenes. This movie failed to uphold the initial vision and was lackluster kn both those fronts. I didn't go to the Matrix for some laughs. I went to get mind f***ed. Those who liked it are likely not invested in the thematic entry of initial release. They likely are satiated by cliches Hollywood tropes. The Matrix seems to have been compromised by the conceptualization of what the Matrix is. It was diluted and lost its intended potency. If i was a simple minded viewer looking for entertainment this would have passed.

Unexpected belly laughs. Good to see Robert grint alive and being himself.
