The simple fact that a girl as young as Marji is able to handle all of this war in such as way as she does is amazing. The way that she is so interested in this topic and all of the politics of it. She seems very knowledgeable in this since and from a young age seemed interested in god, and yet (like all children), lost interest over the years and then grew more into politics and global issues with her race, religion, country, and people. She seems like such a strong and capable person to be able to understand and want to speak on all the things going on around her in the world. When reading this one might think, wait is this really true? Can she really do all these things at such a young age and be able to handle it well like this? But then you realize that this is indeed true and she really is as strong a capable as it says. I felt so into the story and it just reminded me of how many global issues are really happening. Even though I only had to read this because of a school ELA unit I really likes this book and how amazing all of the things that are going on. Sometimes, especially when they talk about what they endorsed I think to myself and wonder, wow governments are really crazy. Because they are. Overall I really enjoyed this book.
