This particular movie didn't have the mortal kombat tournaments, but was more of an introduction to the main characters to set up sequels. It is action packed and enjoyable and hope they succeeded enough to make a sequel. However, some key longterm characters in the mortal kombat franchise were killed off, one was understandable considering the character to come, but I wish others would've made it through to sequels. Overall, a good movie with questionable decisions that hopefully get redeemed in a sequel that seemed promised to be
