This movie serves as closure for all of us Star Wars lifers. Not because it satisfies our urges to want to know the truth about this saga, but the kind of closure that leaves you feeling like it just can’t go on after this. Kylo Ren is the only character with any real depth in this chaotic and at times lifeless plot, and still the arch of his story fizzles a bit in the end. Of course, I will watch anything Star Wars related because the psyche of my youth demands it and the nostalgia still entertains me. But my heart feels just that, nostalgic and a bit melancholy about what could have been with these characters and somewhat dissatisfied with the convenience of the ending. A kin to the obligatory pro bowl with an all star cast of disinterested players, the movie is entertaining at times but rather insignificant in the whole landscape. The Mandalorian is now the clear torch bearer for this franchise.
