This book has an awesome premise. It's a love story, an historical snapshot of Cuba, before Castro and particularly touches on the significance of the American mob in 1958 Havana, Cuba.
While all of these ideas are touched on in the little novella, the main story is the love affair between Hector Wallace and Marta Malone and what happens when her husband Victor Malone, finds out, a mobster, who owns the Formosa night club where Hector Wallace happens to be performing.
All in all, a fast, quick paced story that's fun to read, with one, hot alleyway scene where Hector and Marta finally get together. It's one of the hottest scenes I've ever encountered in a romance.
