You know... People critically take it and down it because it wasn't exactly from the original piece.
But being the child who wore out the tapes of the original movies and just saw the live action, I disagree.
With remakes of movies like this, they hint at what was made before and they take some of the original content and use it. But what people can't seem to see past is what movies that are recreated are for.
They are to introduce another look upon the original classic. I watched Aladdin as well and Will Smith made the role his own. With the Lion King, it still brought me back to the place I was when watching the original piece; it also introduced new jokes and a different spin on it to still resemble the same.
So instead of being the hard stone critic, I'll be the artistic soul on my creative criticism. It was well made, some things could've made the movie a bit better, but overall I see it was executed well.
Please, if the creators of this movie read it, don't let it die. You left it completely open for Simba's Pride. Show Kiara's story. <3
