For the first few minutes , Clockwork Orange doesn't seem to aim at any specific message but is just plain disturbing , too much for it's own good , cos the mainstream audience might feel tempted to stop witnessing the initial nonsense..
The Nadsat language by Anthony Burgess makes it more baffling .
You often ask yourself , " What the hell am I watching here " ?
Later on , as the character builds up for Alex DeLarge , the movie proves to be fast - paced and provokes judgement at every stage.....sounds quite captivating , doesn't it ??
So , does suppressing free-will seem acceptable , whether the oppression comes from a sadistic gang or be it from the government...
The film is definately futuristic and symbolizes the dystopian nature of the world we live in , not only a Dystopian Britain...
They say " What goes around comes around" , well , Alex DeLarge learns all about it the hard way !!
A movie like A Clockwork Orange will never be created again and with a little bit of open mindedness , you would come to terms , why this film became a cult classic....
Definately , would recommend it , especially if you feel you can dive out of the mainstream mindset for a couple of hours ... inevitable appreciation is guaranteed !!!
