George Ferguson

I generally love gangster themed films and series. Being British I also have a soft spot for those shot within the UK. So on a basic level I enjoyed season 1 as it ticked the boxes. The fight scenes are well choreographed and a few of them really blew me away. The shock factor was the level of gore and violence. This coupled with losing the convention of mob men being the only gangsters capable of violence, really set it apart from other gangster series in my mind. However the character development I felt was weak. I found myself not caring for anyone whilst watching it. So it didn't really matter where the story line went or who ended up in the firing line. Joe Cole was better as a blinder even if he was left in Cillian's shadow.
