To many people’s surprise, I felt that the remake was much better than the original. Of course, Robin Williams is irreplaceable but he isn’t the only thing in the whole film. Will Smith makes an amazing Genie. All in all, the new film is a wonderful new approach to the story of Aladdin. It borrows a lot more from actual Arabian culture and the soundtrack easily tops the original. But in spite of the cultural accuracy, this film still makes you miss Robin Williams, Gilbert Gottfried(Iago in the original) and Jonathan Freeman(Jafar in the original film). I think the best part of the whole movie was Mena Massoud(Aladdin) and Naomi Scott(Jasmine). Their chemistry is wonderful, and not to forget that Scott’s voice sends chills down your spine in “A Whole New World” and “Speechless”. Dalia was a fun new character who made for great comic relief. My personal rating for this movie is 8.5/10. A must-watch.

I kept my expectations rather low for the remake. I said to myself that I will enjoy it if I will and I won’t if I won’t. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The film manages to make you feel like a kid again along with some new scenes featuring Nala and some backstory about Scar and Sarabi. There is also a scene where Simba, Timon and Pumbaa talk about the Circle Of Life. The film as a whole emphasises more on Simba and Mufasa’s relationship. I wasn’t really bothered by the “lack of emotion” because the point was to make a photorealistic version of the original film. However, some tears and flipped back ears on little Simba could’ve helped add some depth to the wildebeest stampede scene. The voice acting was good. The new animation is incredible. It looks so real at some points that you forget that you are watching animation. All in all, my personal rating for this film is 7.5/10. Most of the points are for the amazing music and animation.

This is not a documentary. This is an attempt at tarnishing Jackson's legacy when he is dead. If he were alive today, this documentary would never have been thought of. All that "Leaving Neverland" has is shock value. It presents no actual facts- just the ramblings of two money-hungry conmen, on whose lives Michael Jackson had a positive impact. Wade Robson and James Safechuck previously testified under oath during both the 1993 and the 2005 trials of Jackson that he had never touched them inappropriately or sexually abused them. Robson's and Safechuck's portrayals of Jackson as a pedophile also conflict- Robson claims that Jackson was hungry for children, while Safechuck presents a more paranoid image of the King of pop. This documentary is an excellent example of the depravity of modern society and yellow journalism- people are willing to believe anything thrown at them, regardless of whether they are the facts or not. An unbiased examination of the evidence proves Jackson's innocence- many Michael Jackson fans became fans after having done research on the child abuse allegations. "Leaving Neverland" should never have been created or aired. This film is an affront to journalism, Jackson's legacy, and unbiased, objective research. Michael Jackson has done so much to make the lives of children better all over the world. He is dead- let him rest in peace.
