Both actors are great for the main roles. It is clear they get together at the end eventhough the finale left it open-ended. He loves her but he publicly dates a rich co-worker who can secure him a big home, a well paying job and a comfortable life by marriage. He is embarrassed and uncomfortable that everyone can through his vanity. Obsessing over the poor co-worker and refusing a fancy car from girlfriend and breaking up with her, is his way of denying his vanity. Yet, he fails to acknolwedge his love publicly, not making a commitment, and continuing to go on blind dates in search of an educated rich wife prospect, to the end. The character is neither a great lover, nor an honest friend. He lacks determination and confidence. Audience can experience a level of frustration with how slow both main characters are in talking, communicating, and moving forward with a solid relationship. There are times, audience can tell the editing is not done right because it is physically not possible for the male actor to be in 3 places at once. Oh, well.
