Cuties movie was not what the lynch mob says it is. Amy (11) is acting out against her conservative Muslim faith by latching onto a dance troupe that think mimicking sexualized adult dance moves is the only way to win. Amy's sadness and frustration about her father marrying a second woman, along with her coming of age and expected to participate in the antiquated practices of her faith, conflicts with her desires to be sexy and popular like her friends through a dance contest. Amy's troubling behavior demands further exploration as she ventures into anti-social dangerous behaviors that put people's lives at risk. 7/10
