I enjoyed this book which I got as a library discard. I am happy I did not pay for it as I was annoyed throughout by poor fact checking. Alice cannot have tomatoes and cucumbers fresh from her garden in Maine in June. Not possible. Little things like that put me off a book. However it is well written with interesting and well developed characters. The plot moves forward at a steady pace keeping my interest to the end.

I would give it no stars if possible. Two hundred pages too long with almost no plot, uninteresting characters and dry repetitive writing. No wonder it was 40% off on the remainders table. I am glad I did not even pay that much as it was a share among our reading group. Not one out of 6 readers had a good thing to say. Waste of my valuable reading time.
