Unoriginal, cliche, boring, hokey, embarrassingly cheesy performances, ZERO chemistry between the actors, bad directing, and…in what world did Reese Witherspoon read this script and say, “This is good, let’s make it!”?

After sticking with the first episode (which I didn’t like immediately, but that’s common for me), I ended up loving this series. Aside from the dark humor, which when done right, I always appreciate, these highly entertaining storylines show the REAL darkness in people, the traps they/we live in, and those same people’s vulnerabilities, courage, and yes, even beauty. The weaving of all these aspects of humanity in one series, to me, with a backdrop that shows, at the same time, just how beautiful the world (and life) is, was nothing short of masterful. I was surprised to find that it wasn’t based on a novel. It felt like a novel.

Some good acting but unlike the book and unlike Jane Austen herself, a pretty dull film. The breaking of the 4th wall seemed less intentional and more like a mistake. Dakota Johnson gave a solid performance, but I felt no chemistry between her and her leading man which made the film even more lackluster.

I’m finding the series to be redundant, repetitive, sometimes trite, and the acting is mediocre. Except for Anika Noni Rose...she’s always great.

Really well done and even though I have no interest in space or movies and shows about space, I’m completely hooked.

If Beale Street Could Talk was EASILY the best picture of the year. It's one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen, and it's also, in my opinion, one of the most important films in cinematic history.
