I have watched this programme for many years. Recently I have been disappointed. I live just west of the Lockyer Valley in Queensland. I can look out now on the valley which used to be the vegetable bowl of this area. It is shrouded in dust and I can rarely see an irrigation system operating.
I am a gardener, but I can grow little now. I have a few vegetables surviving in wicking gardens.
I have lived here for 36 years and I am watching both native trees and those we have planted, dying.
When presenters speak of planting for spring I feel like crying.
We need some segments on how to care for surviving plants in these conditions. We also need to know how people can start again when their area has been devastated by fires.
