Jack Lam

Right in the middle for me. Pace was ok, slow but it's a folklore stretched out to 8 episodes. I like the explanation at the end of why they came. I didn't like the suicides/killings (it's ok to portray it, but it was the defualt solution). I didn't like how the characters are so emotionless. Is this an icelandic thing/society issue? Is suicide a big problem there? Why aren't they more excited about the phenomenon? Like the head researcher had his son as his laptop wallpaper, yet he actually hates him. Weird.

It's a strange show. I don't like any of the main characters. They are either too flawed or capped powers to make them workable. Allison is so powerful but she keeps making stupid decisions because of her personality. All the characters act idiotically because it's part of their character. Does that make it likeable? Not to me. It makes for lazy writing, and for me hard to care for the children. The father Hargreeves has zero likeability. My favorite are Hazel and Cha Cha. Second the mom. They are the most charismatic and fun, but not even protagonists. One is awful. Idiotic and incapable of logical thinking. Diego is pretty much an idiot who throws knives. Klaus is a total mess. Ben is OK but he's dead and can't do much. Allison does way too little. 5 is doing all the work but isn't particularly likeable. Vanya is so powerful but can be defeated by regular people.
