It had the potential to be a great film about racial divide, cultural differences and gender rights. However it was handled so grossly I cannot even begin to comprehend, the arc with her teacher was unnecessary and had no substance to add to the plot. Also certain scenes made no sense, theses a scene where she’s breaking up with the guys she’s dating and he does not even ask about the bruise on her face. I don’t know this film managed to make hala as a character very unlikeable and removed any sympathy for what she might have been going through. horribly disappointed

This one hits in the feels great coming of age story all about growing up and learning maturity and kindness
