Only a handful of films have come as close as replicating the visual style of comic books as well as this one - only "Scott Pilgrim", "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and certain anime movies like "Golgo 13: The Professional" are comparable with this romp's achievements. Although it's not what is normally expected of Mario Bava, he pulls off the script's sly humour with panache, gets great performances out of Law, Mell (their sexy pairing makes me weak at the knees!), Piccoli, Celi and the wonderful Terry-Thomas, and puts his mastery of colour and framing to a more polished style than many of his other films would allow. Definitely beats "Barbarella" in my view - check it out!
