Honestly it was really refreshing in the horror, suspense/psychological thriller genre. I’ve been so sick of watching the same movies over and over- seeing the same general story play out. The darkness lingering beneath the imagery in Nocturne truly shook me to my core. No cheap jump scares-no excessive gore. It didn’t need it to be truly menacing. I personally found Nocturne captivating and very clever; I was on the edge the whole time. It left me unsettled and deep in thought which is rare for me anymore. I really enjoyed the cinematography and music chosen- just beautifully done. At some points the music is almost mesmerizing and Sydney Sweeney really captures the role well. I think it’s also refreshing to see different interpretations as well. Instead of being disappointed I was discussing it afterwards and just overall fascinated. If you’re into horror from a much deeper angle this is something to watch. So overrated.
