Good collection of the classics. These titles can be challenging and I’m glad they gave you infinite lives on anniversary mode. Classic mode still has the lives system if you dare to take on that challenge. Notable improvements: Widescreen support is appreciated, Mission mode is fun, being able to use the spin dash & drop dash in all of the games. Beautifully animated opening and ending cutscenes for each game. Museum is a good time capsule of classic sonic, with its box arts and illustrations. Not on par with the concept art and history included with Sonic Generations though. Cons: Would like to have remastered music as an option. Similar to what they did with Sonic Colors Ultimate. Every track was recreated in that game and I enjoyed hearing the remixes. Would like to have seen remastered graphics, similar to the beautiful fanmade Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD. I mean, if we’re going to revisit the classics again, might as well do it right since we have the technology. I feel like it would be worth reimagining the graphics and the music for the newer hardware. Would be nice to have that option for the game. Lastly, I don’t understand why Sega couldn’t reuse the MJ soundtracks for Sonic 3. It was included in the classic collection for Nintendo DS a decade ago, so it doesn't make sense why they can’t use it now. The MJ tracks are superior to the prototype versions. I know I nitpicked a lot, but this is a solid collection and enjoyable way to experience the classics. Though, I don’t know if it is enough to warrant the $40 price tag since there is not much here that hasn’t been seen before.
