The first time I saw this film I hated it for the way it portrayed my home town. The truth is that it’s bang on accurate! Begbie, Sickboy, Renton, all characters that were somehow familiar to me. Now that I’ve come to terms with the movies honesty I realise that drug abuse and poverty are social ingredients found the world over. Danny Boyle does an amazing job of telling the story in all it’s grit.
