This is a criminally underrated film. The casting is great and the story decent (a little implausible in places, but way more believable than most spy films!). It’s SUCH a stylish film… the costumes and settings are beautiful, and the soundtrack is superb. Diegetic music is underused in cinema in general, so to see it used so well is wonderful - the other recent films that use it successfully are Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2 (incidentally Debicki also features!) and Baby Driver.
All in all this is classy, polished film that deserves a lot more respect!
- whatever your views on Armie Hammer are, I wouldn’t write off this film. He’s not being paid for it anymore, and he’s rather good in this -
