TLDR: Bright, pretty colors and furry characters. Everything else is a hot mess.
I really wanted to like this game, I did. Despite never finding this 'horror franchise' particularly mortifying, I have been a huge FNAF fan since it's debut. I went into this game expecting a breath of fresh air for the series. What I got instead was a glitched mess that needed another year or so in the oven.
The best thing about the game is the aesthetic and characters, i.e. the main 4 animatronics. Pretty to look at? Yes. Fear-inducing? Not in the slightest. Come on though, let's not pretend that any of the FNAF games beyond the first one were ever truly terrifying.
The lore is beyond convoluted at this point. With Purple Guy now being tortured in hell forever but also still alive and walking around, but ALSO ALSO a computer virus or something... Don't even get me started on the fact that there are two of them now. I was hoping that Security Breach would stick with Vanny as it's new antagonist, but unfortunately William 'always comes back' or however they want to excuse poor writing. On another note: why are the animatronics sentient and capable of eating now? They're less like possessed robots to be, ya'know- AFRAID OF, and more like glorified fursonas.
What more can be said about the amount of game-breaking glitches? I paid 40 dollars for a game that breaks every time you press the space bar. I know the devs are 'working on it', but they never should have shipped the game like this to begin with.
