The only good thing about this movie might be the star casting, but as individual actors no single character is convincing, the viewer is not attached to any character, every character death feels like a relief due to the long run time. The grand sets in each scene don't run we'll with the 1940s aesthetic.
The whole plot is based on Alia Bhatt's character (Roop)hearing Madhuri Dixit's characters song who is in another part of the town either she uses a loudspeaker or roop has super hearing.
The worst part of the movie is the first meeting between the two leads Roop and Zafar(Varun Dhawan) where he holds her and gives her a creepy stare, Dharma productions is a serial offender in bypassing the notion of consent and teaching the young minds that holding a girls hand and stalking is the right way to win her heart.
Nepotism and the monopoly of dumb directors in the industry is why we find regional movies winning national awards.
Do yourself a favour and wait till this forgettable film comes on TV or some streaming platform.
