Her parents love her, EVERYBODY at school loves her, some guy who owns a tattoo shop loves her. She’s a decent skater and she runs the local Superman blog. She has a handsome ex bf (who she gets along with, and HE loves her) and her female friend at the comic book store has a thing for her. All she needs is to get super powers and all will be well. I have waited my whole life for blacks to be taken as more than the token. I bought Power Man comics off spinner racks. I watched Super Friends and was happy to see Black Lightning in the late 70s. Now we are finally getting our shot- why is it so bad? This young lady has everything but powers and she gets powers at the end of episode 1. I hope everything doesn’t come easy for her, her life so far is totally perfect. I will watch because despite all I have listed above, it still beats Batwoman.
