I wanted so badly to like this movie. I have always been a fan of Kathy Bates, Nicole Kidman and Joey King. However, it was incredibly odd to see Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron having a romantic relationship and it felt more forced than his bad acting in the movie he was filming for this movie... Joey King and Kathy Bates did an amazing job. Liza Koshy's character did not disappoint! The irony is the main plot of this movie is that Chris (Zac Efron) is struggling to make it through the sequels to the movie that made him famous due to a horrible script. However, the actually movie was equally as bad. It was hard to make it through the video.

We took our two five year old nephews to see the movie. At first they liked the movie but then the movie seemed to drag on a little bit. My nephew said his favorite part of the movie was Sox. The plot does seem a bit hard to follow for the younger aged audience as my nephews did not understand what was happening.

I will try my best to withhold any spoilers. I gave the movie 3 stars only because I felt that the characters interacted well together and I really enjoyed the humor of this movie. However, I still cannot figure out why the first scene was necessary as it played no major role in the rest of the movie. Also, I felt that the main plot of the movie was moronic to say the least. I am very thankful that I received a free rental code from Redbox for my birthday because I would have been disappointed in myself for having wasted money on this movie.

The actors do an amazing job making this feel like real life. I hope to one day sit around "pouring out" emotions with my best friends. 😌❤️

Anna Kendrick was the best person for this role! It is a new spin on the Christmas theme we have seen or read many times over the years. I think it sends a wonderful message on the importance of being kind and listening to others. ❤️
