DILES MAVIS

Decided to give this a go while resting up from a cold. I like the scenery and landscapes, but otherwise the show is kind of lame. One dimensional characters with no real development. Dialogue is pretty lackluster. The pacing of the plot goes from slow to hitting you over the head with a big event to drive the plot forward, followed by slow travel scenes without much energy. Every time theyre in between events it seems like it’s just for the characters to be wary/skeptical of what may happen next, and that’s it. It feels like a cheesy 90s B level sci fi with better production. For such a large set of characters and world, it doesn’t feel very immersive. I hate to say, but there’s a really forced sense of ‘girl power’. I’m all for strong female leads or female lead/driven narratives, but remember in Endgame where there’s that forced girl power moment in the final battle? This is like that for the whole series. It just doesn’t feel organic, it feels forced. I wish I had a better way to explain it, this feels a bit crass, but it’s definitely detracting.
