Firstly, this movie will be confusing for those unfamiliar with the Cats musical. The plot was unfollowable and the whole time I was just trying to understand what this strange movie was even about. Obviously, the effects were outrageous, poorly done, and disturbing. I mean, dancing cockroaches with human faces planted on them? who thought that was a good idea? The makeup that was on the actors faces was awful, especially on Jhud. While her character sobbed, you could see her eyeliner was coming off and let’s not talk about the river of snot constantly on that woman’s face. Also, the humanoid Cat creatures was particularly disturbing when their human faces were licking out of cat bowls. Truly cringe-worthy. The singing and acting was hit or miss with some people actually singing well, and others not so much (Ian McKellen, we’re looking at you). There was a lot of big names in this movie, but some who had no singing skills at all and seemed to just be thrown in there. I saw this with my friend, and we couldn’t help but laugh the entire movie. We were not alone in this considering there were outbursts of laughter by everyone watching (and it wasn’t because of the jokes delivered by James Corden). People were even walking out of the theatre because of how awful the movie was. See this movie if and only if, you want to laugh and make fun of the worst movie ever made.
