This movie shows a great and real relationship between kids. It shows the laughs, the teasing, the concern, and the care friends have for each other, especially at that age. The child actors do a phenomenal job and work off each other naturally. The story is great at adding a lot of entertainment to a seemingly simple journey. It really makes you think of your own experiences as a kid, even if you grew up decades later. The companionship and the inevitable growing apart; it makes you appreciate all of it. It's realistic and charming; it's what it set out to be.

This is my favorite movie. Richard Linklater has mastered the art of making mundanity interesting and exciting. This film feels a lot like hanging out with a group of friends, not really having a plan and just seeing where the night takes you. Which is probably why this is considered a "hang-out" movie. It has a very interesting look at the 70's and seems to pay attention to small details. I've always loved to watch to movie at the beginning of summer; it always set the mood to have a fun and relaxed time.

This movie was a realistic look into the lives of people who don't seem to get enough recognition. Many people forget what a stressful and embarrassing time eighth grade is as well as that age range around it. I like how this story follows a girl with social anxiety. It's great to see more exposure and representation for people with this disorder as they are often misunderstood and ignored. This film also shows that their struggle is seen. As a very shy and anxious person, I felt like was watching myself on screen. It felt so nice to relate to someone on something that made me feel so alone. I recommend this movie, either to find someone to relate to, or to understand people that need to be heard.
