Dear All,
N.C Narayanan’s Enigma of Lean book review:
Lean means two things to me. The first is opposite to Fat and the second is dependence. Lean means healthy fat to maintain shape shedding off unwanted extra unhealthy fat. Likewise, Organisation needs Agility, flexibility and perfectly aligned value adding processes to be competitive and stay fit and healthy to deliver ever changing market needs.
I’m very happy to go through my learned friend N.C Narayanan’s great work and gist of his wisdom on “Enigma of Lean” Book on stand in Global Erena.
The book will be a treasure to possess and refer for those organisations, entrepreneurs and individuals who would like to test and drive and benchmark their fitness for consistent growth and prosperity.
The book deals the change in attitudes and paradigm shift towards emphasis on “System Optimization” with a Pull System in addition to the “Point Optimization”.
The concept of Value Stream Mapping aligned to Materials and Process flows well brought out in a very simple and easy to understand manner with several apt flow charts and diagrams covering all the stakeholders needs.
RMAOR Methodology is key for Step Change and a Strategic Approach for “System Optimization” needs special appreciation which is the need of the hour in these difficult situations of Pandemic to face and offset its aftermath successfully to stay fit and safe.
To summarise, As depicted clearly in the book ROI is key for any Organisation and the definition scope is to be expanded of eliminating waste of NVA not only for Customers but also NVA by introspection periodic self assessment within the Organisation and it’s Management Practices to become exemplary.
It is my great pleasure and privilege to put forth my review and recommend management and students fraternity to reap its benefits to bring change for prosperity of mankind and support conservation of precious resources for a sustainable future economy.
Kudos and many thanks to Mr. N.C Narayanan for bringing out this wonderful book “Enigma of Lean”.
Best wishes and regards,
Giridharan Ramanujam.
