Ren is the son of the character that sacrificed himself to bring Godzilla back, so you would expect Ren to be important. But he wasn’t. He just stood there and say some comment every now and then. And then was just wasted. All of the characters were boring, cringey, and annoying. Godzilla had so little screen time that the movie ought to be called Kong 2. I just never really liked Kong, but he’s fine. Mechagodzilla was pathetic. He got defeated in five minutes. I expected him to last much longer, and to be more powerful. The movie was too short so they could of added some things to make it better. Because of the lack of character I couldn’t feel the gravity of the situation which made me just not care. At some moments the actors and actresses seemed to sigh while performing. And at times some of them just seemed to wander on set with no idea what they’re doing. Bernie was irritating, Madison, Mark, and Josh were useless, Ren just seemed to wander around, Nathan was just boring, Walter was just yip yapping, I don’t even remember the name of the woman that took care of the girl or girl’s name. The film also felt empty and underwhelming. King of The Monsters had much more going on and made you feel that there was a huge threat. It felt more like a short fan film rather than an official one. Some things just didn’t make sense such as how the air craft carrier can support Godzilla and Kong, why there is no wormhole when Godzilla blasted through the ground, how the helicopters can carry Kong, why the woman wasn’t suspicious with Nathan, how did they get Kong on the boat, why Is Ren a bad guy, and why would they shoot Kong when trying to escape. Some of those things are explained in the novel but why not in the movie? Not everybody will read it. It was just action with a little boringness in between, why watch it if only 20 or so minutes of the movie is worth watching? Why would Jonah give Ghidorah’s skull to Apex? Jonah believed the Titans should rule the earth, so why would he give it to people that want to destroy the titans? The feud between Godzilla and Kong felt really forced.
