I'm sorry but not sure I've watched the same film as the other reviewers but this film was bad. I really wanted to like this film, I was super hyped. But then the film started with its opening action scene, where our protagonist whose a master assassin does her job the loudest way possible allowing for everyone to attack her. I think the choreography is good but the way it plays out is stupid, as u can see everyone in the deep background standing waiting to charge into the room. Further into the film the protagonist has to save someone being held hostage but her plan is again go in the loudest way possible. Then the next part really riled me up is when she is about to kill the main hostage taker the hostagee decides its a good idea to pull the protagonist off of the killer. The above are just 2 examples of how dumb people are in this film. Worse of all is the protagonist who shows no sign of being clever or smart or even a trained assassin. Her method is just to charge in and she usually ends up captured but she does not break free, it's plot convenience that sets her free, like when the main villain is about to kill her but someone comes in to stop him or the next capture the guy cannot shoot her when she's like 4 metres away from him despite showing his a capable shot a few moments earlier. The positive I can say is the fights are pretty decent but highlights a big problem of how inefficient all the moves are. The fights spend so much time twirling about and slamming each others heads, cutting each other but everyone keeps going like it was barely a scratch. The ending is the most egregious where the "antagonist" gets stabbed, head slammed, fingers chopped off and a grenade of nails to the face but it barely fazed her, despite the grenade before being shown to be devastate up close. Then we have the story which is weak, there's 2 strands of plot but neither is complimentary with each other. They seem to go there own path then its needed for someone to come in and fight with our protagonist so they converge. Like I said I didn't go in hating this film, I wanted The Raid, Headshot or Night Comes for US but there is too much stupidity involved in this film to be enjoyable and at over 2 hrs long its a chore.

I'm sorry, I tried to give the series the benefit of doubt but it's just such a pointless series. It is not entertain and rules and tricks are pulled out at random. There is no tension and care since you don't care for the characters. The biggest problem is how unlikeable both Agatha and the other main. Agatha is actually insufferable. The actress playing Agatha is so over the top and during the 1st episode she is terrible, though she does fit the role a bit better later on. They try to make Agatha sympathic but she is the absolute worse. The rest of the cast is there but has no character they serve no purpose. I don't mind gay characters but the show goes out of its way to enforce it, it does not feel natural but a quota to tick. The other main which I don't want to mention is name in fear of spoiling the story for anyone is an important device for the series but he's so pathetic, whiny and nagging. They want to tie to the Marvel Wanda series but its its dragged on forever and the pay off is not worth it. When u have no likeable characters nor a compelling story then it's just 9 episodes of pointless setups. The 1st episode actually really compelled me it felt like there was milage for a mystery but from there onwards its nothing. I'm not a hater I wanted to like this show, I wanted a surprise but this is just terrible. Not as but as She Hulk but still very bad

The film opened really really strong, it was intense from the word go and the protagonist was so collected and composed but u can see hes holding everything back and as the audience u are waiting for him to explode in a glorious comeuppance on the evil doers. I will continue with the positives, I can not stress how strong the opening is, it does so many things right in setting things up to come, sure there's contrivances mainly the good girl lawyer but it works just fine. The bad guys are set up just as evil but not quite the cartoon villains that they are. Helped by some strong casting. Some may complain about how slow things are but to be it's paced so well for 2 thirds of the film. But then things turn bad, the films makes u think that the protagonist is this highly skilled and intelligent individual whose just learnt the art of composing himself during threats, and a midway segment where he confronts the big bad, indicates this but as we reach the last third of the film he starts doing extremely dumb stuff. The ending shoot out is so stupid, he hands over very important evidence to a random stranger. Also he's surrounded by so many armed individuals yet he just runs to cover with no one able to shoot him. A film like this needs those moment of satisfaction of when the villains gets there deserved but u don't feel that triumph. A very sleazy individual gets punched in the face multiple times but that's it yet the protagonist was happy to break another arm. The finale sees the hero stuck in a hard spot but out of nowhere the villains decide they want to be good guys. So our main guy is this highly skilled individual but the fights themselves are meh. nothing particularly great about it. the worse things is how inefficient he takes people down, wasting so much energy on pointless moves. there are comparisons to Jack Reacher, The Equilazer and even BeeKeeper but sadly he's not anything like them. He's just not clued in on what's happening a lot of the times and his plans are very stupid. Now I read some reviews of racism but if people actually watched the film it's nothing to do with race. I think people just want to scream racism for everything. The film was so good and I can forgive weak endings but when people start doing stupid things it ruins it for me.

I’m a big John Woo fan having grown up with the likes of Hand of Death, The Killer, Hard Boiled, Bullet in the Head and even his Hollywood outings I thoroughly enjoyed. Sadly Silent night is an abysmal film. its such a boring slog and lacks an depth, it feels like an amateur shooting a film. The story is very weak, we have a father played by Joel Kinnaman grieving over the lost of his son in a gang shootout so he trains himself up in order to take revenge. Generic stories are fine if the other elements are in place to cover for the stories weak points but sadly everything is a failure in that regard. The option to go with no dialogue would been well and good in better hands but John Woo is not known as a finesse film maker lacking the skill to convey the relevant emotions and character motivations via the on screen performance or screen direction. Many moments it feels like words are needed to be said but cos of the option to have no dialogue it feels like what’s playing out on screen is so forced and artificial. There’s an especially egregious moment where Joel’s wife is looking for him in the house but as she spots him sitting there solemnly she pulls out her phone to text message him, just to maintain a no dialogue exchange. The first half of the film is especially plodding, it takes forever to get going. Joel’s transition to regular joe to killing machine is so unconvincing. I can understand gun training and physical body building can be trained on your own but he becomes a skilled fighter after training with a dummy. But that don’t really matter goes he never utilizes his fighting skills convincingly. Then we have the terrible acting all round. The non use of dialogue really emphasis how crucial the performance is and the pain and anguish that Joel has to convey is over acted and just so unbelievable. If you can sit through the first 80 percent of boring story then you will get to the last part where the action is and man does it disappoint big time. Joel storms the gangs lair and he shoots his way through but everyone is just running at him or running into the open to get shot. There’s the one take running up stairs killing everyone shot but u can see people waiting for there turn to react and the cuts are very obvious. None of it excites and in fact it made me angry how stupidly put together the whole scene was. This is such a bad film and does not feel like a proper Hollywood production, instead it feels like a student project.

It's the most generic film you will watch in a long time. Everything about it is so boring. Space with dinosaurs sounded interesting but there is nothing engaging happening on screen. Adam Driver is great in the role but it's such a one note character and his relationship with the child character is so bland. The action scenes are so boring, nothing new or interesting is shown. Just so BORING

I kind off enjoyed the first Enola Holmes as deeply flawed as it was I thought there was much potential in her adventures. I don’t want to be too harsh but the writers and truly incompetent in writing an intriguing story, Enola’s character is all over the place; times she is supposed to be super intelligent yet unable to deduce anything on her own, she supposed to be head strung and independent but so reliant on others and they harp on and on about how skilled a fighter she is but not once do we, the audience witness any competence. The mystery of the film is so weakly conveyed and the film makers do waste a bit of time with unnecessary filler. A criticism I had with the 1st film was the inclusion of Sherlock Holmes himself with his presence always over shadowing Enola. So with a sequel it was supposed to be about time that Enola branched out on her own and establish herself as a fully fledged individual and not sidekick to Sherlock but what the writers opted to do was double down on Sherlock’s presence. Sadly the inclusion of Sherlock removes any independence from Enola. Take one scene for example at a ball room where we supposedly see Enola going undercover to speak with an individual key personal but she spends her time bumbling about and being stupid and nothing of particular comes from this except 3 coincidental people she just happens to bump into. This scene is intercut with Sherlock doing the actual investigating. I don’t like throwing the word woke around but it seems all films these they have to do this. Enola Holmes herself was fine for me, a spin off character of an established indivudal and she is played so well, so I had no qualms about her, it’s the direction they chose to go with Moriarty and Watson that baffles me. Neither are ruined by race swapping but neither does it justify its race swap. Its just painful to see film makers having to go this route instead of creating new characters. Then we talk about the direction and the sheer lack of intrigue of a thriller it is. Theres so little substance to the plot and so little case solving involved its bewildering. Enola is always harping on about how shes a great fighter but when it comes to defending herself she is so incompetent she just gets handled around constantly, then they have the audacity to have her teach someone else to fight. The fight scenes are handle so poorly and you will not be able to see what is happening, quick cuts are stupidly fast and the lack of creativity in the fights are the problem. I wanted more Enola Holmes but this is not the direction they should go. I hope the next outing is handle more competently.

I was not clammering for a Black Adam film and as much as I love Dwayne Johnson I think he has too strong a persona to play an established character. I was correct in my worries Johnson does not sit comfortably as Black Adam, he's not bad per se but he's just too much of a celebrity to really buy into the role. Matters not helped by how generic his character is written. The film has a strong basic concept of what if the hero does go the extra step in killing his foes. Its actually a concept I can buy into, hating how heroes always have to let the villain live but the film makers never take it any further, they seem afraid to tread this concept and only just dabble in it with weak dialogue. The trailer excited me when I saw Atom, Dr Fate and Hawkman, was I disappointed? Yes but at the same time I felt they were well acted and designed if a little under used. Hawkman and Adams clash seems weak and its absurd how the Justice society would show up to "restore order" in a society where there was not proper order, in doing so they cause more collateral damage than before. Dr Fate is great but his relationship with Hawkman is not developed strong enough for u to care and then there's Atom and this other character that distracts rather than add to the story. The worse part is the lazy inclusion of civilian protagonist and her son. Her son is a hero fan boy and his actions are stupid. These characters always end up being hostages and always feel like a character for audiences "relate to". The ending is another generic action CGI affair and it felt to similar to what Dr Strange would do than being an original set up. Visually it's impressive and the action is well done but when u have indestructible characters fighting each other there always seems like there's no outcome. I enjoyed the film but it didn't wow me. I felt it missed its potential in delivering its underlining message and the film makers chose to side step it. Its fun and there's no political messages being pushed here which is something we need to commend.

I really wanted to finished all the episodes before posting review but my god is this series an atrocity to human society. yes I agree that society is not fair and some woman have been undermined, threatened and treated badly but to make it a basis for a weakly veiled story and do it in such a forceful manner is just laugable. First of the series have little heroic action so those expecting a super hero series will be disappointed. then we have the comedy which is so unfunnily bad and rides of stereotypes, it goes out of its way to undermine every man on earth and no male is a good guy and that's its base for comedy. then we have the courtroom side, which barely exist, Jennifer Walters our protagonist process little smarts despite being a lawyer and the courtroom drama is so pathetic. So as action, comedy and drama it all females. As commentary on society it also fails since it portrays everything so one sided and force feeds its political agenda down audiences throat. I'm up to episode 5 and it's a whole episode about a legal battle for the She hulk name yet the way its laid out is so stupid. The series is so quick to establish she hulk yet we barely got to know Jennifer Walters and all her troubles are verbal opposed to being witnessed by audiences. we we do see her struggle its these clichéd situations that are just so bad and cringe worthy. one episode sees she hulk having a one night stand yet when she reverts back to her human form the man is like no way and leaves. Jennifer is presented as hideous which she is not. the writers clearer don't know how to write an engaging story and its another series made to push political agendas opposed to love for the source material. the makers should never be able to write again considering how atrocious this is, bad words but it's true after watching this.

Believe the praise, this is the best hero TV show. James Gunn did wonders with 2021's The Suicide Squad which is a shame that it flopped. He returns with the spin off series Peacemaker and he instils the same homour from the film into this series. In the fact the series feels less like a super hero show and more a comedy and drama series with the action sprinkle sparingly. And this is not a bad thing. Peacemaker is so well written and we slowly get snippets of background story of how he became to be and you start viewing him as a character opposed to the dicknish person that he is shown to be at the beginning. The opening credits is one of the best credits in a TV show. That alone informs you of what the tone of the show is. The best thing about this series is definitely John Cena who is phenomenal handling the comedy and amazing in the emotional beats. He portrays an egotistical character with great ease but is able to fluctuated to a torment soul at will. The supporting cast are all strong and characters are all flipped and not what you expect them to be. I think the biggest complaint people will have is the lack of super hero stuff happening and the lack of spectical but I felt it didn't need any of that to make the show enjoyable. The fights that do occur are expertly handled and are shot coherently. I highly recommend this show to anyone even non super hero fans. Its just so damn funny to watch.

I was so looking forward to this and finally having watched it was I disappointed. Its overlong and a story that feels forced. First of I understand wanting to tell an origin story but when everything in the film is the ending that matter then the film is unnecessary. All the things that play out before have little in terms of crafting the Kings Man it's just an event that leads to the Kings Man. I loved how lots of moments subvert your expectations and characters dying off but they do just act like shock value. tonally it's what the Kings Man is but it can be rather jarring how death is punctuated by humour. The villain is also boring, think Rogue Nation or Spectre and you know what the film is about. It was an intriguing premise how the tide of war is manipulated but it jumps around way too much and this is not the film for such intricacies. The film is also filmed with way too much pointless moments like a parachute scene that goes wrong, it never amounts to anything or have any meaning to the story. Casting is top notch and the actor playing Rasputin is top notch. Then we have the action which is of a high quality as always with Vaughn as director and the late Bradley Allen choreographing but it never reaches the hights of the first Kingsmen. The Rasputin fight does come close though and its an amazing bulletin display. Sadly the rest of the fights as good as they are never matches this and they are few and far between. I enjoyed the film none the less but can't help feel disappointed.
