For many years, I have been stopped watching Chinese movies. Not because they are not great, just I have got so used to US cultural thinking, sometimes a typical Chinese movie would appear strange to me. But Wandering Earth apparently doesn’t have this kind of problem. It has been created totally with Hollywood style. The visual effects are shockingly amazing.The storyline is with typical Hollywood confidence-failure-frustration-regroup-success twist model. The Characters are typical hero-martyr-clown combination. Even with all the Chinese language setting, I don’t feel like it’s a Chinese movie, just like when I was watching “the Great Wall”. The only difference is Wandering Earth is successful commercially. I would highly recommend people to watch this movie for it is beautifully created. But that’s not a Chinese movie,just a Chinese version of a Hollywood movie.
