The movie is ok. I never do this but I'll rate it with sub categories instead of an overall review because I do not want to take anything away from the the people that did put hard work into it. I watched it in it's native language with subtitles. The way it should be. Cast/acting: 5 Nothing wrong with the actors or their ability and dialogue. Well done and as good as anything out of Hollywood. Better than at least half of the Hollywood trash in the last 20 years. Cinematography and scenery and special effects: 5 Outstanding. Such beautiful country and the camera work really takes advantage of it. No weird camera work or silly action shots or anything. Good CGI. Just straight up. Nice Story: 2 I don't know a lot about the mythology behind this movie. Did trolls really hate Christians? Why? Because of bells like the movie claims? It leaves a lot to be answered and only creates more questions. I suppose if you are Norwegian and familiar with troll lore you don't need this to be explained. There seems to be a lot of details that should have been included. Details that wouldn't have weighed the progression down. I have to believe since it is on Netflix that this movie was intended for an international audience. Especially since the whole population of Norway is a few million less than the population of just NYC. So why not include enough details to bring an international audience up to speed. But I do like the premise. It just has so many "why on Earth did they do that" moments. Holes holes and more holes. There was no jive. The story and progression and overall execution was ridiculously bad. 3 stars overall. Watch it once on a Saturday and that's it. Never watch it again. I do hope to see more of this type of film on Netflix. I would like more stuff with some of the actors from this movie. They are unfamiliar to me. Just please get different writers.

What a strange fascinating show. I heard Adam Scott doing an interview on NPR and decided to check this show out. I like Scott in everything I've ever seen him in so I was pretty confident that I would like this. I had no idea how much. A company implants chips into peoples heads which separates their work life from their home life. They have no memory of one another. Effectively creating a two people. That is the surface of the show but holy smokes there is a lot to take in. Think dark, depressing, robotic dystopian shadow company which controls people through brainwashing and fear. But it isn't that kind of vibe I get from the show. Maybe at first when they are setting the series up but the main character (Scott) is good people in a bad situation. The characters are very well written and very well acted. To be fair I can't really put the show into words well enough to do it justice. I was ecstatic to see Christopher Walken and John Turturro are also in it. This show is so well done.
