A fantastic new take on an old classic. The exploration of Scrooge's past and the detailed look into otherwise-tertiary characters create a much richer narrative with more believable growth. Darker themes and tone turn out to be a great fit for Scrooge's tale. While the last quarter of the movie admittedly feels rushed and a bit disjointed compared to the first three quarters, it's not enough to ruin an overall solid experience. This has become my new favorite version of the Christmas classic.
