Magus (Duff) has hard-won scars on his heart and significant past trauma. This book also includes one of the best first-date-gone-wrong stories possible – when the team sets him up with Ivy, who he has coincidentally already met and who has started to crack his shell. This book is another nailbiter; it’s so far one of the most suspenseful of the series, and there’s action – lots of it (hint: attempted kidnappings – not just one!). I’m a long-time Elle James fan, and this doesn’t disappoint.
