Nailbiting action and great writing
And it’s Duff’s turn. Duff has been the team stoic, gruff and taciturn, never sharing his history or much about himself. That changes in this book, in a big way. Magus (Duff) has hard-won scars on his heart and significant past trauma. This book also includes one of the best first-date-gone-wrong stories possible – when the team sets him up with Ivy, who he has coincidentally already met and who has started to crack his shell. This book is another nailbiter; it’s so far one of the most suspenseful of the series, and there’s action – lots of it (hint: attempted kidnappings – not just one!). I’m a long-time Elle James fan, and this doesn’t disappoint.
