As usual, Hollywood cannot be bothered to attempt to get a New Orleans accent correct. Nor a Cajun accent or any southern Louisiana accent correct. Why don’t they at least look into which region of southern Louisiana they are portraying to find out which accent is appropriate for their film? Waiting for the obligatory “Mardi Gras parade/Mardi Gras FrenchQuarter” scene. Are they going to go the “Treme” route and have a gumbo party? Like most New Orleanians, I love to see our city in films, but am always distracted if there are terrible accents and if they get everything about the city wrong, while actually missing what may be good about the film.
