I give 9.8 out of 10 for this movie. First time when I watch it was after it was formally released in '98. Watched it again few days ago. Just like any other movies, some people love it, some don't. Personally, love it even more after 23 years. "Meet Joe Black" is not those typical romance movie or "chic flicks"... if, you pay attention to the dialogue; especially between Anthony Hopkins & Brad Pitt (about death, life & love for his daughter as a father). If you went through enough in life; then, you will appreciate and love this movie. Understand some folks found the ending maybe a bit bizzare, but when you step back and think a bit deeper; you will understand why the script writer or the director handles the end that way. Live life to the fullest, and try leave no regrets.

One of the best movies I've seen over decades. The movie was very well made, filmed, and Ms McDormand's Oscar Best Actress award was well deserved. If you like realistic and thought provoking movies, this one is for you, and it could be one of those timeless movies.

Firstly, this wasn't a horror movie; was being packaged in a form of Chinese ancient vampire horror flick. The movie director & script writer (same person - Mr Juno Mak) was at his late 20s and using this movie to tell the viewers how he sees the ridiculous part of life. At the very beginning, one of the script lines said in Chinese : "If you thought there are lots of ridiculous things in a movie, there are way lot more... in real life." The cinematography was superb, great cast and was a seriously underrated movie. Some scenes were quite disturbing, enjoy.
