This game was set out to be the successor that was it's "enjoyable" predecessor Paper Mario Sticker Star for the 3DS, yet it's somehow worst in some ways. The game has a somewhat original story involving the paint mechanic that the game concentrates on, the dialogue has changed for the better with characters like huey being fleshed out, and I also guess the paper aesthetic like graphics push the console's limit to show off a beautiful constructed paper like world (which the game does use in it's puzzles and other menial tasks). That's about it in what it does better than Sticker Star, it still has convoluted puzzle solutions, instant Gameover scenarios, Toads as 90% of the npc's, and no experience progression, and if it wasn't bad enough the battle mechanic is worst than sticker stars, only improvement was the addition of a bigger inventory for battle cards compared to the minimal space of Sticker Star's album space. So yeah, without spoiling bosses, "story", and settings I can go on, and on how this game (and it's predecessor) have taken the concept of what it was suppose to be a story concentrated based game with unique characters, to just an experimental paper craft based gimmick of a game.
