I’m a big dune fan. Loved the original spectacular and looking forward to this but a massive disappointment. The original was truly weird and wonderful a bit like Star Wars originally but on acid. The original had massive amounts of detail and colour to every scene yet this was dull and uninteresting. It was like a bad soap opera with long lingering pointless close ups and supposed dream sequences. The sound just seemed to be loud with very little change to portray the scene. The battle scenes - why would you have men fighting with swords when actually you have a few thousand nuclear bombs. Totally pointless. What an extremely disappointing waste of 2.5hrs. I will watch the original tonight on dvd to try to wash this from my memory.
