Movie review - Super30 ( 2+1 / 5 ) : the reel hero fails the real hero . But an extra ⭐️ for my bias for education based and real super human stories .
Hrithik Roshan looks a complete miscast in this story - the movie did not require a super star as the story is the focus and the transformation of Hrithik to a Bihari looks plastic . Also, the movie fails to move the audience for the sudden reason for transformation of the real Anand Kumar to take up the task . The movie though is inspiring and next time you read a story of Poor kids getting into premier institutes you will be able to appreciate the struggles of the kids for the best education . Pankaj Tripathi does a wonderful job as always . Aditya Shrivastava does justice to his role . None of the super 30 kids are able to stand apart and tell their story .
The length of the movie with unwanted song and dance sequences is a pain and especially the Sholay sequence . The climax scene at hospital was unwarranted and overly dramatised.
Irony in the movie : The movies key premise is “ Ab Raja ka beta, Raja nahi banega “ . But with Hrithik being a star son and Bollywood full of nepotism it makes you cringe. Nawazuddin or Vicky Kaushal or Rajkumar rao would have been better fits .
Vikas Bahl a #metoo accused has a scene in the movie trying to make fun of the #metoo movement - completely unwarranted .
I would recommend reading up on Anand Kumar over watching the movie - as the story needs to be known .
