SPOILERSSSSSS. This game was made to show you how your actions always have consequences. And not just that but that there r two sides of a story. Going from Ellie and learning what drives her motivation to kill, you only feel her rage as well. But, when you play as Abby u start to question whether Ellie is doing the right thing. Abby killed one, while Ellie killed many. Abby changing in the end for two kids who are SCARS relates her to Joel a little if you think about it too. Joel was a man who just wanted to get the job done when he first met Ellie, and grew to be a loving father figure to Ellie going out of his way to make a selfish decision to keep her in her life. And Abby went from only trying to kill SCARS and Joel, to saving these two children who are supposed to be her enemies. She grows just as Ellie grows and Joel grows. Some people may not like the fact that she did what she did to Joel. But how can u be happy with the fact Ellie killed all of Abby’s friends, that being her ex lover, and a pregnant lady (yes I know it was an accident but it is still something you can’t brush off). The last of us 2 was a game made to show how your love for one character can harbor hate for another with little reason for it. We loved Ellie and Joel so we hated Abby when she killed Joel. But, we can love Abby for trying to save her friends and getting Vengeance for her father, while also succumbing to her guilt to help two little children who are in a different faction than her. Ellie went through hardships just like Abby. This is what makes the both of them great characters, as there are both real people, with real emotions and real problems. Abby is relatable and Ellie is as well. This game is truly a masterpiece. One that is heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. Both of these emotions were so strong that even I cried multiple times throughout the game that’s how connected I felt with these characters. GREAT JOB BY NAUGHTY DOGS.
