I have read (and loved Don Winslow’s books). I think The Power of the Dog and The Cartel are great works. The Border, however, was somewhat disappointing. Part of it was the author’s political bias. Although I agree with Mr. Winslow’s politics, I believe they got in the way of this novel. I think his ending was rushed - a lot of unanswered questions... Nico/Flor, Bobby Cirello, Nora/Sean and Hugo Hidalgo (spoiler alert - so unlikely that he would have had such seemingly easy access to Rafael Caro).
