This is based off a true story and it touched my heart a lot but I had to be wise as a serpent to see that a lot of the wisdom wasn’t from God coming from the Rabbi, when he compared different religions to species of trees apparently that’s how God intended to do with humans but that’s biblically incorrect, as a devoted Jewish man you would think he knew the Bible more than anything and missed every scripture where God is displeased, disappointed and destroys nations that worship other gods and in today’s world it implies the same…while it sounded spiritual and wise it was deceptive. I know it’s a show but that’s why non believers are led to believe that everyone is a child of God and that’s not true. We are all sinners needing of a Savior even the prophets of the OT knew this or admitting it to God Himself, recall Psalms. As for the pastor his story was also very intense and tragic how he was innocent legally but because of corruption made choices that seemed ok in his eyes and led a destructive path, if it wasn’t for Gods intervention using the Rabbi things could’ve ended differently for him…even as his building was falling apart His trust and reverence for Jesus was really admirable…biblically he did say something that stood out and I’m glad it was put in the script…”you can’t work your way to heaven”. The other religious beliefs are about working our way to God and earning his favor/love…with Jesus He finished His work on the cross…we don’t earn it…that is what sets us apart…a God that loves you because He delighted in you when He made you…I hope the sweet Rabbi repented as He was passing through to his eternity and accepted the true Messiah…it breaks my heart to think otherwise…
Jesus is the Truth they way and the LIFE.
