As a diehard fan of Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, I was a little nervous for this. It was, however, fantastic. The SoC characters were integrated into the plot, just enough to satisfy a fan of both of the series but not enough for them to overtake the Shadow and Bone plot. The best metaphor I can use is the following: think of Shadow and Bone as a tapestry. The thread that is Six of Crows is integrated into the tapestry, as the one part everyone loves and wants more of, but it doesn't overpower the rest of the art. I was very impressed by this, because this really shows the producers know where their fans lie. I will warn you now, though, if you're looking for a perfect rendition of Shadow and Bone, this is not it. If you're looking for Six of Crows, this isn't it either. However, you will get the Six of Crows characters we all love so much. The special effects are fantastic, the costuming is everything, the acting is perfect, and because I know there isn't a straight fan of these books, the rumors are true, there is, in fact, gay stuff. Fantastically done, and I really never say that about movies based on books. It was incredible, worth the watch. (Minor Spoilers) I really appreciated the fact that the end of the series set up for Six of Crows.
